Spring in Science: LEEF Researcher Ying Wang Presented Her Research in Wuhan and Melbourne
March and April were eventful months for Ying Wang, a Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Experimental Economics and Finance (LEEF). During two business trips — to China and Australia — she presented her ongoing research to colleagues from leading academic centers worldwide, received valuable feedback, and strengthened the laboratory's international connections.
Wuhan, China: Cherry Blossom Workshop and New Contacts
The first stop was the 4th Wuhan Cherry Blossom Workshop on Experimental Economics, held at Wuhan University from March 27 to 29.
Ying Wang presented her paper, "Dynamic Feedback and Incentive Design: Theory and Experiment." Workshop participants offered constructive comments on both the theoretical framework and the experimental design. These discussions will help improve the clarity of the model and strengthen the alignment between theoretical predictions and their empirical testing.
A key outcome of the trip was negotiations with Professor Lijia Wei, Director of the Center for Behavioral and Experimental Research at the School of Economics and Management, Wuhan University. The parties discussed potential collaboration between his center and LEEF at HSE University. Ying Wang also facilitated a meeting between the head of our laboratory and Professor Wei to further explore joint projects. Thus, the trip not only advanced her current research but also laid the groundwork for a new academic collaboration.

Melbourne, Australia: International Dialogue at the ESA Conference
From April 9 to 12, Ying Wang attended the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Science Association (ESA) Meeting, held at the University of Melbourne.
There, she again presented her work on dynamic feedback and incentive design. Feedback from the international community focused on result interpretation and the presentation of the experimental design. These insights will help guide further revisions and improve the overall positioning of the project.
The conference also provided an opportunity to engage with researchers from related fields, offering useful perspectives and helping identify promising directions for future research.
A noteworthy detail: at the conference, Ying Wang met her former Boston College colleague, Manshu Khanna, whom she invited to visit HSE in May to further explore possible research interactions.
Both trips contributed to the advancement of Ying Wang's ongoing research project and enhanced the visibility and reputation of our laboratory within the international academic community. LEEF continues to strengthen ties with leading global centers of experimental and behavioral economics, opening new opportunities for collaboration and exchange of expertise.
